Comments from Mr. Yu-Fa Huang (Chinese Taipei)
This work is very well done in terms of overall composition, planting of aquatic plants and stone arrangement. The entire aquascape looks very fresh and natural, and the plants and stones seem to be well maintained. By using only a few varieties of aquatic plants without much use of stones and driftwood, the natural planted aquarium is expressed in a bright and fresh manner. During the recent heat wave, the moment I saw this work, I felt a pleasant coolness, as if a spring breeze was blowing. I like this feeling so much that I gave this work the highest score.
Comments from Mr. Andre Longarco (AGA 2023)
Iwagumi style aquariums are stunning. Its delicacy and simplicity captivate observers. But to stand out in an aquascaping competition the hardscape work must be practically impeccable.
The rocks lacked power and appropriate scale.
Oyaishi is well positioned but the fukuseki almost disappears among the plants and the complementary ones are not subordinate to the other rocks. Try to study a little more about the iwagumis and the criteria for subordination between the rocks.
The carpet would also be better if it was mixed and not so straight with one specie only you need to let Nature settle.
Your work reminded me a lot of my master the Mr. Takashi Amano. He's certainly as proud as I am of your work!
Keep it up!
Congratulations!
